Here is the demonstration executed during the RMLL 2011 for the presentation “Free your NAS with lacie-nas.org”.
The objective is to fully replace the embedded LaCie firmware with mainline free software. The only constraint is to keep the product warranty in effect. As a consequence, the case cannot be opened: It means no serial or JTAG interfaces. Instead, the netconsole is used.
